German-born artist Mariele Neudecker, who lives and works in Bristol has become well known worldwide for her sculpture, film and photographs which play with our perceptions, distorting dimensions and scale to create sublime landscapes and versions of reality slightly different from our own.

Neudecker studied at Goldsmiths and Chelsea College of Art, and now teaches at Bath Spa School of Art. She received the Henry Moore Sculpture Fellowship in 1998, and won first prize for Sculpture at the 7th International Biennale of Sculpture and Drawing at the Gulbenkian Foundation in 1997. Her collaboration with Opera North, Winterreise, has toured all over the UK, and her recent shows include solo exhibitions at Tate Britain and Tate St Ives. She has work in many private and public collections across the globe.
