Adjacent to a housing development by PDB Builders Ltd, Trinity Church has become the recipient for this gift ‘Crucifixion Relief and Votive Candle Holder’ by Stephen Cox. Carved from a piece of ancient Imperial Egyptian porphyry, this stone is of great hardness and its use has a particular Christian resonance having been much used by the Byzantine emperors and indeed it is upon a piece of this material that the Pope is inaugurated.
